After three weeks of intensive training, the TAS team was all prepared to show off our moves at the EY dinner and dance night. It was loads of hard work -sourcing for dance instructors, studios, coordinating people to learn their dance steps, costume shopping etc. I must say through this experience, friendships were forged, memories were crystalised.
The climax reached just moments before we went up on stage. Oodles of excitement, anxiety, confidence filled the hallway and we just cheered and spurred everyone in the team. Abeit bad music coordination by the darn ass events company and all the wrong songs were played, (I mean...fancy not telling us where to collect our mikes just 2 minutes before our performance) we managed to pull it off. Disappointingly, we won third as we expected ourselves to at least clinch the 2nd place. But hey, the best is always not the first huh? We received loads of compliments from partners from various departments and also, best of all, we were most proud of ourselves.
The night ended with many of us getting merrily sloshed at Zouk. Ha. In fact, I was so overwhelmed by tiredness that on the way back from Zouk to Swissotel, I actually left my phone in the taxi. I even slept through the night thinking that I must have misplaced my phone in the hotel room itself and would eventually emerge after clearing the mess the next day. Of coz, I couldn't find it the following day and worse still, the peeps who stayed over night all had no batts in their hps. grrr.....Luckily, I called using the hotel phone and someone actually picked it up! He said that he found my phone in the cab and could meet me in an hour's time at Chua Chu Kang MRT station. I was especially elated and met the kind soul who returned the phone back to me. Thank God for the blessings. ^.^
