Km's birthday party was one of the most successful surprise party I've ever planned! And best of all, it was effortless and enjoyable. The idea of the entire celebration was to pamper him and let him have a relaxing time as work had been driving him up the wall lately. We both took off from work to spend this special day together. Of course, I didn't tell him what the program was for the entire day.

The day started off with me making mince meat and mushroom pasta for km. The initial plan was to take him out to the beach for a nice picnic but too bad the weather was not on my side. As acccording to my weather plan, we had lunch at his place. I was happy that Km was thoroughly satisfied with the taste of the pasta=)

The after lunch program was to take km for facial at Pac plaza. However, because km had been so tired for the past few weeks, getting his butt to move a little quicker wasn't too easy. What's more, he didn't had any clue what was the day's program gonna be like. I had to shift the facial appointment much much later to cater to km's reluctance to get ready a wee bit faster. Thank God there was a later facial appointment during the day! Km was a little nervous when I took him up the escalator at Pac plaza. That's coz he thought that I was going to take him for some yoga session at True Yoga! hahaha! When we passed by True Yoga and up another escalator towards LifeSpa, km gave a sigh of relief. heehee!
Anyway, I dumped kelvin for facial and took the opportunity of time to go settle the hotel room at Swissotel Merchant Court. Along the way, got some really nice pretty balloons and card at Centrepoint, and took a bus down. I was really holding on to the balloons for my dear life as I was damn scared it would just slip outta my fingers! After checking in the hotel and placing the card and balloons on the bed, km called to say he was done with facial! That was so much earlier than expected! To stall more time, I told km to meet me at clarke quay mrt station whilst I made further preparations. Realising that you needed a card to scan before you could press the lift button to the level you want, I knew that this could possibly ruin my surprise for km.
See, the past few days was spent contacting a couple of kelvin's close friends from poly, smu and some from his previous work place to come knocking at our hotel room door to give him a mega huge surprise! So if I had to come up and down to get them up, it would have so totally ruined the surprise. In the end, I made a special request for the receptionist to take my friends up to my room as long as they cited my name and room number correctly.
km at our hotel room looking really surprised!
After sms-ing everyone the details, I picked up km from the mrt station. While walking towards the direction of Swissotel, km coincidentally needed to go to the loo. I suggested using the 'toilet' at the hotel. Km thought it was a good idea and consented to it. Somehow before we could use the hotel's lobby toilet, I jolted him towards the lift and brought him up to our room. Km was extremely shocked to find out that I had actually booked a room and was pleasantly surprise to see the pretty balloons! He was even more surprised to find out that I had packed his clothes with me while he showered before leaving his home.
yummy black pig cutlet
Dinner was a stone's throw away from our hotel. I decided to take km to eat at , in my humble opinion, the best jap restaurant in singapore-Tampopo. It was located at Liang Court's basement. They served the best tasting black pig cutlet and ramen!

Mouthwatering Ramen with pork bone soup boiled for over 2 days.

Km gave all praises to the reasonably priced and superbly delicious food. I was glad I chose Tampopo to dine in. Btw, check out km's complexion! It's really much more radiant doncha think?!

No thanks to my friends, Carol and Jeremy sorta dropped hints that we were up to something and that got km really suspicious whenever I answered the phonecalls or sms. To make him drop the idea that we had a surprise brewing underneath us, I psychoed myself to look really really disappointed and got him to believing that nobody was coming after all. That got km kinda upset and disappointed and resigned to the fate that his birthday was gonna be just a celebration between the both of us. Then I pretended to be really tired and told km to head back to the hotel as soon as possible. Little did he know his friends were just eagerly waiting for his arrival!

Tada! When we arrived at our hotel room, we heard Jeremy chatting really loudly to Carol. Km thought they were some rowdy neighbours just being inconsiderate. That's when carol shouted 'Surprise!'. hahahaha....and all of his friends-kevin, jay, kenneth, ryan, may, karen, kk sprang up from behind and darted into our room. km was absolutely shocked beyond words! hahaha...and immediately, his disappointed face earlier turned into a cheerful and spritely one!

Km gingerly opens up his presents

Km was greeted with presents, cakes , champagne and more guests to come. Later, people like andrea, poly friends dawn, nicholas, daniel, wenyin and km's god daughter, xuan arrived to the scene.

That's km whispering to my ears 'you're damn sneaky!'

Happy as a lark

Karen and kk, Andrea, Km and I

Carol and Jeremy

Party was packed with more than 16 people in the room and we all had a great time together chatting and what not. I'm just really grateful to all those who managed to make it for the surprise party under such a short notice. I'm glad it turned out really smoothly and we all succeeded in making km a really happy happy boy. =)

Happy birthday my dearest!=) *paw print*

After one disastrous eyebrow trimming session.....done by yours truly.

Fuck!!! I look perpetually puzzled! What an emergency! To salvage the painful situation, I quickly fled down to the hair spa and salon at Pac Plaza to look for my eyebrow stylist.
It's slightly better now-with the help of an eyebrow pencil ...................sigh
